Ben & Jerry's has been operating in Israel, under a licensing agreement, since 1988. The first store opened in Tel Aviv, at 284 Dizengoff St., in September of that year. The licensing agreement includes manufacturing rights; currently all Ben & Jerry's flavors available in Israel are produced at the licensees' factory in Yavne. To ensure that products made in Israel are of the same great quality as products made in Vermont, Avi (our licensee) often consults with our Vermont manufacturing and quality assurance staff; he has also spent a lot of "hands-on" training time working with our production crews at our factory in Waterbury, Vermont. |
